Favorite Spot in the House

Transportation

This is one of my very favorite spots in our house. It makes me chuckle.

I have 3 young kids. We have 4 vehicles.

Our mini-muffin received an appropriately sized vehicle for the Christmas holiday so that he could tag along with his older sibling muffins. (The blue truck on the end).

He wouldn’t ride it.

It was for “babies”.

He’s a baby.

So he would scamper after his siblings and push and pull their vehicles. It was an accident waiting to happen.

His sister would ride the “baby” vehicle so that the could use hers. He was happy with that but you could tell she missed her pink car. The “baby” truck was a bit too small for my oldest muffin.

After much debate on the “life ain’t fair” and “you need to learn how to deal with what you have” discussions that went on in my head, I decided that we probably would not be too affected by the spoils of life if we purchased another vehicle. I decided on a bigger one for my oldest since he was even a bit too big for his current vehicle. I presented it as a vehicle “for all to share”, but that the oldest would probably use it the most. That seemed fair and there must be a lesson in there somewhere.

All were happy.

Then all fought over the new vehicle.

But at least there were enough choices so that no one had to ride on the “baby” truck now.

Not even the baby.

…fast forward…

Guess who I now see happily choosing and riding the “baby” truck these days?

The baby.

It’s his choice. He doesn’t HAVE to now.

That’s adorable!! And isn’t it funny that they willingly do things when a) they don’t have to, and b) when it’s their decision?! šŸ˜‰
